Monthly Meeting

 April 30, 2008

Held at Fitzy’s Pub, No. Attleboro , Mass.

Attendees:   Jim Morris, Kathy Schaaf, Steve Baker, Jim Leonard,  Kham Haleudeth,  Sandy Sheehy, Roland Derochers, Robin Coturier, Kirk Bogardus, Kristen Dori, Kevin Fitz.

Treasurer’s report:   Wampanoag account-$3634.00 5.0 Race Account $16342 .We have due:  Bloom Bus $586.25...

Fall Marathon:  The voting on the Wamp website is complete and Richmond , VA. Was the winning location

Grand Prix Series:  The upcoming races: Attleboro 10k on May 3 and the Mansfield 5k on May 17 are next.

Relays:  Marshfield Marathon Relay Team; we will be having track time trials to determine the male members of the Relay team.  The 10 spots needed for the female runners will be determined by The Bettys. This will begin in May.   If there is enough interest, we will have a “B” team.

Mt. Washington Race—we were able to fill the 5 spots with the volunteers needed to keep our slot opens for the Wamps next year.

Reach The Beach 2008    There is only a 6 person Ultra Team so far.  The Bettys may have one of their own 12 or 6 person team.  There is not a 12 person Wamp team due to closing of sign-up. .

Volunteer Cleanup    Town of North Attleboro to clean up the trash bags up and down Landry Ave and on John Dietsch blvd that the Wamps were able to fill on the April 26.

Wampanoag Gear; Wampanoag jacket, hooded sweatshirts, Racing Shirts.  These were all discussed but no decision.

Wampanoag Philanthropy:   The Wamps approved by unanimous vote the following recipients; Foxboro High School $3500.00, Attleboro Museum $3000.00, The Hockamock Y in Foxboro $1000.00, The Julia Cekala Charity $1000.00, The So. Norfolk County Arc Center $500.00...  This organization helps the Unterweger family with day care for John.  John is the severely handicapped man that we wave to as we pass by in Plainville on George Street .
